14 years old . want to lose weight. [doing sit ups] [inparticular]

Well, just a few weeks ago or so . I weighed myself, and I was 112 . I sometimes eat ice cream, and now for some reason, after getting a bath, I weighed myself just the other day, and I was 108 . That was after dinner and everything . so I lost a few pounds somehow.

I it did nothing . I tried to do sit-ups . I have about 80, but I think I got it somehow wrong . I would like a few pounds to lose, because I feel kinda big right now . even though Im only about 108 .

Please help. Im sick of it. : Confused:: mad:

Reply:w3ightloss, you sound like you have a serious problem, 108 pounds is not overweight, at fourteen the last thing you should be focusing on is weight, I suggest you visit a nutritionist or talk to a counselor about this, you are bordering if not right in it an eating disorder with body dysmorphia, (exaggerated appearance of yourself, in this case thinking you are fatter than you are)no one here is going to help you lose weight, nor advise how to do that.

but I can give you some references to look up and read, Break out of food jail, and how to be naturally thin by eating more both by jean antenello, Bodyfueling by robyn landis, also the obesity myth by paul campos, get the books at the library that is where i got some of them.

permanent weight loss, or natural weigh loss is not something you can force on your body by enforced famines (not eating enough to keep the body happy)if you famine the weight off what you lose is very little fat but muscles, organ tissue and water, you can exercise till the cows come home and you won't build up muscle or fitness at least not that much compared to the effort required,

1200 caloires is not enough for a growing person, in fact it is not even enough to keep a 150 pound person alive when in a coma! So get those books or see a doctor about it honey, people have died from trying to achieve excessive low weights,

Reply:Just a few facts that might help you out…exercising (sit-ups) that you do build muscle, muscle weighs more than fat but at the same time helps you to burn the fat even while you're not exercising. On page 2 you listed veggies that you liked, I'm sorry to tell you but all 3 that you listed are not considered veggies they're carbohydrates. Carbohydrates turn into sugars, you need to limit these types foods and you need to start or keep exercising. Your occassional icecreams/yogarts are fine, you need the dairy, calcium will also help to build muscle that burns fat as will eating protein, fruits and veggies. Don't worry about the numbers on the scale, worry about whether or not your comfortable, once you get into exercise and become fit you'll feel comfortable. If you're this worried at your age (sorry to bring it up again_ but) just wait until your 18, 25, 30, etc. your a women and your weight is going to vary depending on your time of the month! Just get comforable with yourself and do full body workouts, muscle toning and cardio and drink plenty of water. (Trust me you'll see!) Good Luck sweetheart.

Reply:ur not gona lose weight doing situps.. im into working out a lot.. im a 16 yr male whos 6 2 and weighs 170.. you have to do get cardio frequently.. wether your running, walking, jogging, jumping, playing sports.. its all good.. and you cant eat really bad.. if you really wanna lose weight you have to be committed.. do cardio 3-5 times per week.. dont eat too bad.. and dont do situps.. if you want to tone your stomache a bit.. try doing crunches.. there easier on you and more effective.

Reply:your weight goes up and down by about 5 lbs because (as gross as it is) you can have about 5 lbs of food and crap in you by the end of the day. And eventhough everyone else has said it………You're not fat!!!
If thats what you were looking to hear i hope you heard it and can go on being happy and healthy with you tiny little rolls and all.
Please please please realize those girls on tv (nicole richie, lindsay lohan, mary-kate olsen etc) are not healthy. They are nothing to look up to (incase that is why you with a 5'3-108 lb frame think you have anything to loose).
Talk to friends, family, your mom dad, aunt anyone. Get a good idea of how healthy your weight is. You could gain 20 lbs and still be a great healthy size as long as you eat right and stay toned.
Women are built to have a little extra. Very few people are naturally thin and many of those who are wish to be curvey.
Focus on being healthy…not thin. Think about being toned (which may even mean a bit more weight due to muscle)and not about the scale.
Good luck you are at a hard stage and boy do i remember being a young girl (i was 107 5'2 and thought i was fat) please don;t ruin your teen years worrying about weight like i did!
And have a great day!! :)

Reply:I dont think your problem is your weight and needing to lose 3lbs, but rather you probably need to exercise. Losing weight wont make fat completely disappear. However, if you exercise and do more weight training to tone up, you can tone your stomach. Losing those 3 lbs wont get rid of those rolls, it might just make them a little smaller. Exercise needs to be consistent to work, and will help out in areas other than your tummy, like your legs and arms. Doing 80 crunches one day and never doing it again isn't really going to make a differece.

Im not an expert, so I cant tell you exactly what exercises, how much, etc, you just need to experiment with different types, how many, and be patient with the results. You might even GAIN weight because muscle weights more than fat, but dont be scared. The results you need to be paying attention to are how your body looks.

Reply:In case no one else wants to say it I will Honey get a grip PLEASE you need help yes it is call therapy for an eating disorder and by the way get use to it its called womenhood all women get that extra layer of fat around there stomach its part of being mature enough to birth children, why do you think most women survived donnor pass (you know the wagon train that got caught in the rockys during the winter for over 4 months with little food) but then again they did eat each other, but back then all you skinny minny people would of the first ones in the pots (just joking) but women have different lays of fat for a purpose its just that some of us have more that others and women carry it different from men , So please move on to something eles to dwell on. Try doing for others it will make you feel better from the inside out.

Reply:Yes totally most women have rolls especially on their lower abs!! I was 88 lbs and I had fat on my stomache!! Now I am a lot heavier and its is no different.

Reply:if we didnt have 'rolls' we wouldnt be able to stand or sit up straight, because we wouldnt have enough skin. its not something to stress about.

Reply:see? "rolls" or whatever dont matter when u sit…im shure nobody cares…just try to love urself. its not easy, i know, im going thru the same thing…but it can be done :)

Reply:im 14 and im fit and i would date a girl that is 108 your not fat

Reply:I didnt mean to offend you, just stating a fact and i did make a suggestion witch was to maybe get involved with a sport if you arent already doing so b'cos well im sure you know, sport is a good way of getting some exersize in and exersize can help with weight.

Reply:hun, we all have rolls…its natural…even when i was at my lowest weight (80 lbs) ew…i had rolls…

Reply:Uhm… I try to stay away from fattening things. I eat chicken, and fruits. I drink TONS of water… and I just want to lose a few pounds. I hate sitting down, and having rolls. I never had that before. It's disgusting. And it'd be nice if you wouldn't complain on how I am only 14, and would actually give me tips on what to do… because it's hard with me.

The only vegetables I like are :
Peas
Corn/Corn on the cob
… and potatoes.

That is all… then I love fruits, such as cherries, watermellon, strawberries, grapes, peaches, plums, anything really…

Sit-ups do help. I just think I do them wrong. Uhm… I heard that yogurt and green-tea pills do something?… I just want to lose a few pounds. That is it!

Reply:your only 14.. your still growing.. you are going to get taller yet probably and your body will even out.. you sure dont sound overweight.. you need sum fat on you to keep you healthy.. do you play any sports? cos that can be a good way of getting in some exersize while having fun at the same time..

Reply:We sound exactly alike. I am 5'1'' and just a little bit heavier than you ( I don't like to use numbers, it can be triggering to some people..)

You can't obsess over 3 lbs!! Your water weight can make you fluctuate up to 5 lbs. Yes, I have fat on my stomache and it grosses me out, but even when I was majorly overweight I still had fat on my stomache…It is part of being a woman, we store fat in certain places.

How many calories do you eat a day? Do you eat a lot of sugar, fat, carbs?
If you lose 3 lbs…you will gain it back when you have your menstraual cycle and then you will freak out and think you have to lose 3 more lbs, and it is a vicious cycle.

Like I said before, pilates can sculpt your body.

Reply:I'm only like 5"3, yea… and I'm 108lbs. I guess?… But when I sit down and ****, there's fat… and it's gross… and when I stand up its kinda chubby too. Just tell me how to lose like 3 pounds… please!

Reply:Hey…guy is a great person to listen to, because I have seen her alot of the eating disorder boards.

I think no one has replyed because you sound like your are bordering on the edge of an eating disorder or atleast weight obession. I am about your weight and I constantly worry about 5-10 lbs.

Weight fluctuates all the time. Sometimes I look thin and the next day I look 5 lbs heavier and my clothes feel tigther.

Check out the body weigh index calcuator they have on different sites, it will tell you how many calories you have to eat to maintain your weight.

You never said how tall you are…if you are over 5'3'', that would concern me a little because you are NOT overweight (even if you were 4'10'' you wouldn't be overweight) And how old are you? do you calorie restrict?

One more thing, Pilates can work wonders for your figure..

Reply:hun, ur only 108…thats not fat, how tall r u?

Reply:It's nice seeing that after about 10 people viewed this, everyone was just too good to say anything. Shameful… :nono: I have yogurt also. It's fat free and all… does that do anything? Someone should be kind enough to respond to my posts.
