after weight loss issues – Help. = ( [gym time] [quot]
Hi all,
Okay because most of you have / are struggling with weight, I hope I can find some support here.
After one year and half and a lot of gym time, I managed to lose about 45 pounds. (Im 5 “10 and now 135) Weigh It was not easy and it did work and still takes work to keep – and that is the problem. I worked my you know what off – literally – be healthy. But I I still need support, too. Nobody ever talks about what happens when you lift the weight – for example – I was told by my weight loss group at work likely to lose, because that “youre skinny – you do not continue come “and was told by someone else that” should would be nice to not have to worry about the weight. “HA!
Eat the way I for one week, my 5h workout with me. Then tell me I dont worry – ugh. Anyways, sorry, Im just upset – Im just a group of people who will listen if I have questions or problems and need for ventilation and will not relieve me bc I have lost the weight.
thanks. =) E

Reply:HI Eileen,
That sounds a little short sighted of your work group since if they too are successful they will also want to have a place to go to discuss the struggle. Losing weight may be hard but keeping it off is something most fat people never seem to manage and so a support group would be especially helpful. You really can't bore your other friends for whom weight has never been an issue LOL Maybe you could point that out to them and note thatl weight watcher gives lifetime memberships for that same reason. Good Luck

Reply:for example – I was told by my weight loss support group at work that since "you're skinny now – you don't need to keep coming" and was told by someone else that it "must be nice to not have to worry about weight." HA!
WHAT???
:dizzy:
Are they open to some re-education?

It's good to know I'm not by myself here. It is a lifetime thing – and while I don't have to be as "good" all the time like when I was losing the weight – I still work out and watch what I eat. Maintaining this weight isn't my problem – I feel like I can still be "normal" and indulge every once in awhile without super consequences. For example, today in a meeting I split a cookie with another coworker – they were massive – and it was like…a topic of coversation. "OH MY GOD! E's EATING A COOKIE!" and i know they were joking but seriously…get a life.
And you're right – I AM thin. But I have a slight frame so I don't look sick or like I'll blow over in the wind. =) Nor am I trying to loose anymore weight.
Thank you for the responses!

Reply:Yes, I get a lot of the same attitude, " Oh, you lost 45 lbs., you must be cured now." NOT! It is a lifestyle, not a diet, so it is never over. I've kept the weight off for 3plus years now, but never do I feel like I'm invincible of fat. Those comments are from people that haven't 'got it' yet, all they see is the prize at the end of the weight goal. Then they wonder why they put the weight back on eventually
It took me a full two years of the weight staying off for me to realize
1. I am at the weight my body wants to be
2. I am comfortable in my diet and exercise routine, and don't feel like I am suffering
3. This is the lifestyle I need to have to stay a healthy weight.
One comment though, 5'10" and 135, it's pretty light for your height. I'm not going to judge, because I don't know your body frame, etc. But, could people be thinking that you've been taking this too far?
No Gym? No Excuse!
Reply:well loseing weight takes a big part of our time and motivation, once the weight is off you still need to exercise most every day if not at least 3 times a week and you still have to eat healthy, all you need to remember is not over eat, thats why we gain the weight in the first place we all have just simply over ate….so even tho you may up your calorie intake for mantance to say around 1800-2000 daily, but with that in mind that all really depends on each person.
you have to see what your calorie intake is and just stay with it , its just a way of life.
to have a good beautiful body you have to work on that most of your life.
at 5'10 and 135 lbs I'd say thats a good weight for you. if your asking how to mantain that weight….you need to find out what your calorie limit is before you start gaining, I would say that eating 1800 to 2000 calories daily would be fine, but it may not be? thats something your going to have to find out yourself.
Personally I never want to go back to being fat ever agian…so I exercise everyday and watch my calories…my calories is around 1800 daily…for maintance.
