Reply:Hi, Slinky :p
Boy, you have quite an exhaustive list! There's not too many more I can come up with, but I thought of a couple:
Advantages to eating healthy:
New recipes (I was so bored with what I ate before changing my eating plan)
More diverse menu (junk & fast food is really pretty limited)
The thrill of trying a food you think is going to be icky and it's awesome!
Sleeping better
More energy during the day from eating balanced meals regularly
Skin, hair & nails improve almost immediately after giving up junky foods
New forum friends — I'd never found new friends at any junk food forum
Grocery bill has decreased considerably, but my fridge is packed
Education about your body and what it needs
Advantages of eating unhealthy foods:
Being out at parties or a dinner with friends/family isn't a problem like it is when you're concerned with what's on the menu, what can I eat, should I ask the waiter how it's prepared or just go for it and suffer later.
Still being able to go to your favorite restaurants for ambiance or good times even tho the foods might not go with your eating plan (I miss my favorite wing spot, and there's nothing healthy there…maybe a glass of water).
That's about all I can think of.
BTW, Slinky, I've now read three references from you about missing alcohol. (My hubby & I have about three to five drinks a week together. I'd be bummed, too, if my favorite drink I could no longer enjoy). How's about this: Talk with a local bartender, tell him/her what sort of eating plan you're on and see what they suggest? They may even have a way of modifying something for you or adding a certain something to a drink you may otherwise not have cared for without that certain something. There may also be some diet cookbooks at your local bookstore with a "tasty beverage" section
Lysne
