Chromium picolinate and belly fat [exercise regimen] [stair master]

Hi, Im 5 “4″ and about 127 – I know Im a healthy weight for my height anger, but I want to get about 118 or so. I gain / weight to bear in the first place in my stomach – my mother has the same build as me. I told my doc (actually the nurse practitioner) that I wanted a little weight to lose, and they called chromium picolinate as a supplement to my exercise regime (I work 4-5 times a week 30 to 60 minutes cardio – walking or – and weight training). As I understand it is supposed to help glucose, which is associated with abdominal fat (control?). Does anyone have any luck (good or bad) concerned, or have other words of wisdom about losing the belly bulge? Ive always – I know you can not change genetics, but I feel like I run and work out enough that I have more to lose .

Reply:Insulin resistance will lead to abdominal obesity ("apple shape.") Supposedly, a test for insulin resistance, which is often as accurate as doing blood tests, is just to measure your waist:hip ratio. (Above 0.8 for women or 0.9 for men indicates likely insulin resistance.) And chromium may help prevent insulin resistance. So, it could work. But if you are thin with just a small "belly", which is mostly made of subcutaneous fat and not deep fat, then insulin resistance probably isn't the issue. It's more likely genetic (I'm betting this is your case.)

Reply:Cromium Picolinate is good for weightloss in general and yes it does help assisting and regulating gluccose. How ever I don't think it will "Target" a specific zone. Basically no drugs on the market that you can buy off the store shelf will do anything like that, no matter what she says. Let me explain a little bit, this is a little complicated. But let me give you the information and then use it as needed.

Alot of belly fat comes from over "carb" consumption. Hence the term "beer belly", where I guy can be skinny, but has a big tummy, the weight is not balanced over the body. Another thing that may cause belly fat is stress hormone. People that stress alot will cause the body to produce cortisol.
Cortisol makes the body store the fat on the belly, rather than on your hips, harms, legs etc. It is a hormone that alters your body.

The most important factor is genetics! Genetics is basically 80% of the cause of this. The only way for you to fully defy nature and your own genetics is to actually have surgery and "remove fat cells" from your belly. Yes and after you have done this, the fat cells will have a hard time "multiplying" in your belly area, even if you decided to become fat. It would just be stored some where else on your body.
