erm . changed 'toilet habits “. : / [toilet habits] [fruits and vegetables]
im not sure how to ask this question without sounding annoying . So forgive me if I do .
ive on a diet of almost two weeks now, and its a low fat diet. and I eat very little, much, much less than I was used, and are mostly fruits and vegetables and general carb stuff. and ive noticed that I have to poop 3-4 times a day now. not diarrhea, but just normal. which is much more than before be.
how can that be? I eat so little and so healthy! is this normal? it is a good sign?
has that happened to someone else?

Reply:I don't think it will affect in any significant way either way. If it isn't diarrhea then you are at no risk of becoming dehydrated. It could be that your body needs to adjust to this new diet. People can go to the bathroom anywhere from 3 times a day, to 3 times a week and this is completely normal. I know certain fruits like grapes and pineapple can often cause frequent bowel movements, as well as many dried fruits. Why not try banannas, this often helps. I know for me soy products helped me with such a problem. Another thing that can frequent/softer bowels is ASPARTAME, which is a big culprit found in diet foods/drinks (ex. Crystal light).

Reply:hmm… yeah, but my stool is fine as it is, its just that i need to go quite often. and i dont get gasses, and i cant say im really hungry most of the time either. but yeah i eat white bread cos i cant stand the taste of whole wheat bread.
i was just thinking, will that kind of digestion influence my weight loss well or badly? or not at all?

Reply:Fruits cause looser bowel movements because of the fiber they contain. The water that they contain (fruits and vegetables) also contribute to looser bowels. When eating carbohydrates you should use whole grains/whole wheat bread, such things will help bulk up your stool. At first you may experience gas but your body will eventually adjust. White breads, pretzels and other "Enriched" foods which are often a part of low fat diets will do nothing to help. They may contain more calories per serving (whole grains)but they are better for you and they slow down your bowels and keep you feeling fuller longer. Hope this helps. Good luck.
