Excersize + Diet = no results? [excersizing] [couple pounds]

I have and dieting for some time now (about one year, I would say) and I have seen no results whatsoever. I do not know why! Its like I have no metabolism. Im 52, 125, and looking for those last few pounds to lose! This is driving me crazy! Anyone have any advice?


Reply:I do 30-40 min of cardio 3 times a aweek and 30 min of weight training 3 times a week.. I walk/stand all day at work..

If you have been doing that a yr straight and eating right, you should look great, and I bet you do, just not giving yourself credit lol. I'm 5'3 and weighed 128 about 2 yr ago,and ppl said if I lost any more weight I'd look sickly. I've never been able to get under 128, and i know it's prbly bc my body was saying "this is the lowest you can go without jeaopardizing your health. Actually i prbly could have gotten to 115-120 but i would've had to starve myself.

I'm sorry, hope I'm not coming off as preachy, just trying to reassure you, that it sounds like you are doing the right thing and hang in there. Another reason why ppl don't loose is they are getting too FEW of cals!


Reply:Remember, you need to eat to lose weight. Dont go hungry, watch your fat intake. Your body needs to build muscle which will burn fat and food aids in this, but not fattening food. Several small meals a day rather than say, 3 big ones. Always eat breakfast, even if you're not hungry..I do every morning, I went from size 9 pants to size 3 in abouta year. Keep at it! Also, dont go by the scale…go by how your clothes fit. I found it wonderfully frustrating when I kept having to go buy new clothes cause I kept shrinking!

Reply:well, what DO you eat? we need your entire diet here if we're gonna be of any help. tell us everything you ate yesterday, portion size, and when you ate it

Reply:Not really.. maybe one serving a day… I mostly eat veggies.

Reply:What do you usually eat? It's great that you're exercising, but what you're eating is just as important. I suspect it's your eating habits if you're not losing. Do you eat a lot of bread and crackers?

Reply:Don't worry.. you will definately start losing lbs pretty soon…

It just takes the body some time to grow stronger. Body is increasing core musles and visible musles from the first time we start exercising. That could negate the weight of fat being lost. But the biggest thing is increase in fitness, stamina and strength. And I'm sure you are already feeling much stronger and active, or will begin to feel so soon.

And losing weight is certain.


Reply:You may just be replacing Fat with muscle. Also at 5'2" 125lbs you probably dont have much that you can lose…it sounds like you are at an Ideal weight already.

Reply:Without knowing your exercise program, typical eating day and calorie intake its impossible to tell what the problem might be.
