Exercises aimed at stomach fat [stationary bicycle] [target]

Does anyone know of any? I do Cardio Sculpt the office 3-4 times a week and ride my stationary bike for 20-30 minutes 2-3 times a week.
Ive lost 8 pounds. but have not noticed a difference in my stomach (and Im on a good plan to eat). Im in my fourth week of doing this.

Btw Im 132 pounds. and as a 30-31 “waist (yuk!)

So can anyone tell me any exercises for belly fat? Id be willing to try it:)

Reply:Thanks so much everyone! :)

I think I'm going to stick with my Firm (it's doing good things from my glutes to my knees) and I think I'll replace the riding with treadmill walking/running. :)

I also think I'm going to look into the Windsor Pilates tapes :) I saw an infomercial for them this morning, and it said that you will lose waist inches from it. I hope it's true! :)

Reply:Crunches DO help give the tummy a flatter look because you are working and strengthening the muscles. Its not that you are "spot- reducing", because you can't. But any part of your body that you work will look better. Crunches, when you think about it, are really like resistance training for your abs. You don't need to do a lot of them- just make sure that you do them right and that its a slow, controlled movement. Good luck with whatever you try!

Reply:I also dont believe in spot reduction. Cardio and weight training is definately the way to go to reduce fat all over. I have heard that pilates is good for toning the abdominal area though. Maybe you should give that a try! I have the Windsor Pilates tapes but I lent them to my future SIL for now.

Reply:Um, excuse me Donuts, I did not say to walk with your hands on your waist and leave them there! haha geez…I said to put them there to feel the muscles. I didn't say to leave them there while you walk. That's stupid! Who does that. Anyway I must say you are not completely correct, because my stomach has flattened from walking. It's nice that you have the results you want from cardio, weights, and healthy eating, but that alone does not always work for everyone. Including myself. Maybe you should make sure what you are saying is right before you correct someone. :) You don't have to be know it all about it. Relax! :D

I'm sorry, but this is a very misleading statement. Working your abs does not flatten the stomach. Reducing both internal and surface fat is what makes it flat and walking with your hands on your waist doesn't cause extra calories to be burned compared to walking without your hands on your waist. Take it from someone who got the flat stomach. All the ab exercises in the world won't make it flat. I never did any. I got my stomach flat by doing three things. Eating healthy, cardio, and lifting weights. I never did a single crunch or situp.

Reply:guy,

There is no such thing as spot reduction. You cannot stomach fat. Just keep doing cardio and some weight training and your stomach will get flat because you'll be burning both internal fat as well as surface fat.

guy, the walking is making your stomach flatter only insofar as you're burning calories. It could be any kind of exercise. Jogging, swimming, biking. These all burn calories but ultimately your genetics dictate where that fat is taken from.

guy, I would avoid rolling on the floor with a wheel. This will eventually lead to back and shoulder problems.

Reply:There aren't any exercises that will burn fat only from your stomach, but you can shed fat all over with cardio. Toning up your muscles will also make your abdomen smaller. I do crunches, reverse crunches, bicycle crunches and roll on the floor with a wheel, and my tummy is pretty flat. Remember to suck in your tummy, or you'll be making your tummy bigger.

Reply:Thanks. :) I have thought about running/walking, I think it might help me more than my bicycle.

It's very inconcvenient for me to find the time to walk/run on the track), and I don't even wanna know where my treadmill is right now…. but it looks like I'll be dragging out the treadmill this weekend!

Reply:stand up straight. sounds silly but makes a big difference, and breathe deeply. when exercising make sure you have good posture and are breathing right also.
so while doing your exercises..check out your posture and breathing..and if it is good and still not losing, maybe add some walking. :)

Reply:Its weird, i never thought this would affect my stomach, but lately me and my boyfriend have been walking alot and i noticed my stomach was getting flatter! im not positive its because of that, but it seemed to be getting flatter as i keep walking! so idk..i guess you could try!!!
