Help, what advice! [going to the doctor] [diet pill]

I go to the doctor in a few days and I will ask for a diet pill. I just tried Meridia and it started well but then turned bad, it made me sick (a lot of headaches and stuff like that) so I stopped. But now I definitely want something. What can people recommend? Hydroxycut? I appreciate everyones opinion, but I really do not want to be told not to take pills and so on. I do it the right way, by my doctor with a regular check-ups. And my main reason for using this is because I got severe back pain and told to lose some weight before surgery and it is possible that if I loose the weight that I can not even need surgery. I would lose about 50 pounds and I have a pretty fast acting one. Anyway your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot. Kristy.

Hmm..my grandma, who is 78 is severly overweight, and has major back problems too. She was told that she HAD to lose some weight before she went into surgery, and also, if she lost enough weight, she may not have to go into surgery at all. She joined into an aqua-aerobics, and has also joined a gym. She too was only able to get on a treadmill for about 10-15 minutes a day, but the more she did it, the more she was able to get on there for longer periods of time. Three months later, and has already lost a HUGE amount of weight, just due to going to the gym and doing 30 minute walks on the treadmill (which once used to be only 10 mintues on them) and doing aqua-aerobics. I often go to aquaaerobics with her in the evenings, and its a great exercise for people to know if they are not able to move around and exercise as others might. You shuld really try it, most places will let you go in and try the aqua-aerobics for a few free trials to see if you enjoy it.

It's because I have a fracture in my spine, two slipped disks, sciatica and lumbar lordsis. I never use to be over weight (well maybe 5-10 pounds or so) but when all of my back problems started I was forced to stop working and was forced into a very un active lifestyle due to pain and the possibility of making the situation worse. So I unfortunatly gained weight. Now it's driving me crazy and I am trying to help myself in the very limited way that I can. I need to loose this weight. I can get on the treadmill but can't do it for very long, I am looking into going swimming a couple times per week but I need something that's going to help me out a bit. If I didn't have all these back problems then I wouldn't consider going on pills. But the extra weight right now is only making a bad situation even worse. I do eat healthy (most of the time) it's something I have been watching and have been correcting. Thanks for your response. Kristy.

Just a quick question…is there any particular reason why you are taking diet pills first rather then trying to lose weight by exercising and eating healthy?
Also I am against diet pills, but I am very happy to see that you are going to your doctor and seeing him/her about the pills.
