How to Make Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies: Insider Secrets
Reply:I'm glad that you ladies posted your experiences. I wrote a post last night about how it has been very discouraging trying to lose these last 10 pounds. I don't know WHAT works best for people our height and weight. I hate mentioning my concerns to anyone because when you mention that you're 130 or 135 lbs, people look at you like you're crazy and make rude comments like "if you lose anything else, you're going to lose your mind" or "why are you whinning about your weight when you're already small?!".

What they DON'T understand is the height factor. As I mentioned in my post last night, I'm only 4'11", so I start to feel like even 2 lbs is over weight. I really does make a huge difference. When I'm down to 130, I can get into all my clothes. At 134, I look and feel like a bloated pig and can't manage to button anything. I dread periods, because I can't fit into ANYthing in my closet. The first place it shows is my face. (At 134, I have a double chin; at 130, I don't.) I really would like to get back down to a 110-120. I'm not concerned with trying to look all thin and anorhexic, but at my height, I felt it looked more normal in terms of proportion.

I agree with all those who posted here: it IS very frustrating. Moreover, it doesn't help my esteem very much. I can go walking and lose my stomach; if I stop for just one week, it all blows back up in 2 days just as if I never exercised. If anyone has ANY suggestions to help persons who fall within this weight and height category, PLEASE post your suggestions here. I am really discouraged.

Reply:Make sure also that when you are walking your dog, it's really walking briskly, and not just walking casually so the dog can sniff around, and stopping here and there for the dog to go to the bathroom, etc etc. As great as any activity is, in order to kick your metabolism into high gear, you need to sweat. And if you can't or dont' want to walk fast, walk at a steady pace for a longer distance. Most of the time, it's not how fast you walk, but how far you walk. good luck!

Oh believe me, when I take the dog for his walk it's a pretty brisk walk cuz he is so hyper that he pulls me 98% of the time and he don't stop for nothing, I feel like my arms are getting the best exercise cuz how much they are pulled. Well they say after 40 it's so much harder to come off and I believe that now, I didn't have a problem before with loosing a few pounds and now I do. Well the only thing I can do right now is to stick with what i'm doing and hopefully it will start coming off. Thanks for all who replyed.

Reply:Frustrating isn't it? I'm just under Five feet tall and in the last two years my weight went from 125 where I thought I was HUGE up to 150 so you can imagine how big I feel now. I have been trying everything and nothing works. I finally went to a HerbalMagic diet centre and while it's a lot of work with a very strict diet, the weight is coming off. I'm down 6.5 pounds in two weeks. Its expensive tho! Has anyone else tried their program?

Reply:Hi there,

I have very similar stats to yours (5'2, 130lbs), but I'm 21. I have only lost 2lbs in the past 6 months (well actually, after about 3 months, the scale said I had lost 6-7lbs but I just weighed myself on Monday and it said I had gained 4 of those back!!! ), and I exercise for 4 or 5 days a week (weights, pilates, and cardio). I've also been measuring my progress, and after I lost the initial 6 or 7lbs, I haven't lost or gained any inches. Which was okay for a little while, but now I'm fuming… I feel like I'm trying so hard, and not seeing ANYTHING happen. I have gone from doing almost NO exercise to doing a lot (for me 5 days is a lot). I think now I have to change what I eat–I use fitday and it tells me that I generally eat about 1200-1400 calories a day, so dropping any more calories would be dangerous for me to do, because I fear it might put my body into starvation mode. So, I'm going to try eating different types of foods (cut out the , and all the junk). I'm really sorry for rambling about myself…. I'm quite upset about this situation.

Anyways, to answer one of your questions–instead of only eating a couple times a day, try eating 5 or 6 times a day (small, healthy things), and it will automatically speed up your metabolism. What happens is, if you don't eat for a certain amount of time, your metabolism will slow, and your body hangs onto the fat, for fear that it's starving.

Other than that, I really don't know what else to tell you–I'm in pretty much the same boat. I hope this info was useful to you, and good luck!
