How can I lose weight? [health foods]
I weigh about 170 and would like to loose about 40 pounds. I just do not know where to begin. Anyone have any good ideas? Something cheap, I can not afford to go to the gym and really expensive to buy healthy foods.
Reply:No need to cut carbs. Just replace them with good quality ones ie wholegrains etc. Cut down portions and move more. It is really that simple. Drink stacks of water too!

If you would like to try a program that is guaranteed but cost about $75 per week let me know and I will get you a connection.
Reply:Hi Anna,
Very Low carb and Low fat is working wonderfully for me!! I was eating low carb for about 5 months and my weight fluctuated between 124 and 128 almost effortlessly…I gradually adapted to low carb eating. The misconception is that it is unhealthy, full of fat, unnutritionally sound, a fad, etc… From experience, I've learned that I'm actually eating BETTER than I ever have. I've cut out sugar, white flour, most processed foods, most fatty foods, and I'm eating WAYYYYY more veggies than I ever did. I think one of the biggest mistakes people make while low carbing is that they eat too much cheese and too many LC products. Since eliminating those two things, the weight is really coming off. As with any diet, it's always best to stick with foods in their natural state.
Anyways, last weekend I decided to get it in gear and go straight for my goal weight: 115. I started Monday on the Kimmer's experiment (no carb, low fat)weighing 128. This morning I weigh 123!!! I plan to stay on this plan until I reach my goal weight, and then I will gradually add back in veggies and fruit.
I've already adjusted to low-carb living prior to Kimmer's, so I have little fear that once I start adding healthy carbs back in my diet that I will gain it back. I've fully accepted the fact that I can no longer eat the way I used to nor do I even have a desire to…Yuck!

This may sound like an "obvious" weightloss solution, but what has helped me is drinking lots of water and taking a strong multi-vitamin. I've been drinking 10 glasses of water a day and taking 2 Shaklee Vita Lea (without iron) multivitamins every day. I don't recommend taking the ones with iron, taking too much iron can be unhealthy.
It has helped curb my appetite as I'm getting the vitamins and minerals my body needs so I don't feel as hungry, don't eat as much, have more energy and am naturally dropping weight.
I lost 10 pounds in the past two months just from doing this and haven't tried to change too much…I eat healthy already so hopefully my body will get back on track.

Eat 5-6 small meals a day. You still need a good amount of carbs a day for energy. I don't really know anything CHEAP…I spend a lot of money on protein powder and supplements. there are supplements out there that really help with weight loss. If you can't go to the gym, take a jog around the block or do work around the house. that burns a good amount of calories. Make a goal for yourself. Healthy foods that you can eat include: fish, almonds, cottage cheese, veggies, fruits, protein shakes, whole grain bread, eggs…and many more. But those are mainly what I eat. There are also healthy alternatives. There is sugar free jam, and sugar free low carb ice cream. They might be a little more pricier but to me it is worth the extra dollar.
