If you think they do not look [girls ages] [stature]
I was cooking this weekend and was listening to my girls . ages 8 and 5 . playing dress up. I heard about my 5-year-old sister to tell her that she could not one of the dress-up clothes, because her look fat bear. She is much shorter in stature than her sister was 5 years old, but she is miles away from fat. It absolutely broke my heart! I was in my bedroom and shut the door because they are afraid I would cry. I kept thinking . “What have I done?” They are watching us, even if we think they are not. Watching, learning, absorbing everything we do. I hope I did not doomed to a miserable life of the diet and size hopping.
Reply:I know how you feel. My daughter absolutely HATES eating dinner. My husband told her to eat one night a while back and she said "I can't eat this, I am on a diet!". She is four!!! Also, today, I think my blood sugar dropped, I felt dizzy and I told them what to do if I were to pass out. A few minutes later, my daughter said "I think I am about to pass out". I have to really watch myself around her!

Reply:Keep in mind that they'd have learned this from someone sooner or later. If not you, then from their friends at school. It's unbelievable how early this stuff gets started. What's important is catching it early and getting a handle on it before it gets too big. Sounds like you have time to do that. A lot of parents don't see such signs this early.
