More diet soda Questions [diet sodas] [diet soda]
My teeth are sensitive feeling when I drink diet drinks, is it my imagination or do I use this as an excuse to drink less? Is it really harmful to the bones? The beverage is glaze when you take the bones, so why this rumor? They say the benign tumors or something and it does give weight loss help is tea . better? Im tired of diet drinks (finally!), But to rely on when I dont have it for the caffeine and sparkling taste!
I dont like that depend on this, but it is much more desirable than one drink tea, and caffeine what is wrong with you?
Reply:Caffeine tends to blunt insulin sensitivity and thus slow weight loss efforts in some people. You can always try using regular diet soda or tea and see if your weight loss stalls out. If it does, then it would be a good idea to go caffeine free.
KK is spot on correct. Diet Rite is great and contains no carbs or caffeine. I like the taste better than Diet Coke anyway (although Diet Vanilla Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper are my favorites!).
As to benign tumors I have not heard that. The biggest concern I have with drinking lots of pop is that the phosphorous content (very much an oxygen reactive element) needs to be stabilized with a strong elemental ion. This is what I wonder if you were talking about with the calcium from bones. So leaching of calcium is certainly possible with high intake. If you're doing a low carb diet like Atkins, then blood pH may tend to go towards acid in some people if they don't get enough vegetables. So if you are low carbing, and drinking lots of pop then you might consider making sure to get the requisite 20 grams of carbs in the way of quality vegetables.
The other concern with diet drinks is if they are primarily coming from aluminum cans. But that's really another issue.
Reply:It is usually the acid because even if you remove the sugar from it, the acid will eat away at your teeth and your teeth will still be sensitive to the soda. I am guilty as well, but I stick to Diet Rite which doesn't seem to affect me as much. Good Luck kk
