Need help lose fat [spinning classes] [healthy diet]
I go to the gym 4-5 days a week doing 40 minutes cardio (either jogging, spinning classes or elipical trainer). Mind you, I will not have lost so much weights.
I about 7 pounds since doing routine (took about 5 months) 0.
Yesterday at the gym, I had my body fat measured and it actually went up 3 points! How is this possible? I lost weight but my fat is increased? I eat a very healthy diet and senisble – low carb, higher protein.
I have had breast implants made since my initial measurement, I wonder if this could have an impact?
Please help . and how can I have lost weight but also improved my overall fat? Any ideas?
Reply:Hi guy,
thanks for your message – OK, this is my typical dietary day:
Breakfast:
Bran Flakes with low fat Soy Milk with a glass of water
a cup of coffee (milk only)
Snack:
low fat flavoured yogurt – a glass of water
Lunch:
curry/or chicken or pasta….ah ha (i see this might be a problem now that I'm thinking about it)
Dinner:
either broiled chicken, fish & veggies
or pasta
or veggie burger and fries
(drink water)
After dinner snack:
2 cookies and green tea..
I think I know what my problem is…sheesh!! it does help writing it down. I should eliminate the cookies, fries and pasta.
What do you think?
PS: Kimberly they measured my body fat with a device at the gym which inputs my weight, height and age.
I should be at 20%-25% body fat for me(but I'm at 30%) – (I'm 123lbs, 5"3, 30 yrs). Goal is to lose another 10 pounds.
Reply:How did they measure your body fat?
Reply:We would need more information in order to tell you what you're doing wrong. I noticed you were specific when you talked about your exercise routine, but when it came to diet, you left it vague. "Very sensible and healthy diet – low carb, higher protein" isn't specific enough. Low carbs and high protein is a good start but it means nothing if you're not counting calories or eating the proper foods at the proper times. I had trouble losing weight despite exercising a lot. It wasn't until I became downright anal about my diet that I started to see what I was doing wrong. For starters, can you tell us what your typical day looks like in terms of exercise, meals, sleep, water intake, etc.?
