+ Phen Mine Teri Results [disc protrusions] [lifestyle changes]

Went to the doctor today to follow up on my in my back and had no intention of weighing in today. I was waiting all month to do that.

Anyway, the nurse said go ahead and jump on the scale. I start with Teri Mine Phen 37.5mg on 19/08 and weighed 361 pounds on that day on. Weighed at the current 2.9 to 347 pounds! : Bouncing: I was so thrilled.

The changes in lifestyle and physical activity is definitely paying off. I know its not much weight at the moment, but I can definitely feel the difference.

Reply:When I get to my goal I will change my lifestyle completely because there is no way I'm going to go back to the same size again.

You can't change it after you reach your goal, you have to do it while the weight is coming off. And I said I'd never go back to my previous weight either, but 10 pounds have already snuck up on me. Phentermine does not work for more than 3 moths or so. You don't realize how dependent you are on it to lose the weight. Yes, many of you say that now that you're taking the Phentermine you're making wiser food decisions but it's the phentermine allowing you to do this. Don't believe me? Quit taking it for a few days. First of all, you'll be exhausted. Second, your mind will tell you that you've lost all that weight, you deserve some cake….heck…you deserve the WHOLE cake, go ahead, you can always go back on the phentermine, right? But after 3 months the phentermine doesn't work anymore. I started taking 1 and 1/2 my dose. That helped alittle for a few days but the little boost of energy was gone. So I tried doubling the dose (see a pattern here)? No good. I bet I could take a wjole bottle now and get no help. Anyway, I thought, ok…I'll go off of it for a few months and then try again. That doesn't work either. Once your body is use to it, it never comes back. I posted a thread about a week ago asking if anyone knew what I could do after the Phentermine quit working but no one answered me. I started at 216 lbs (I'm 5'2), I lost down to 168 and now I'm back to 178. I need to be about 140-150 because of the possibility of stroke. Just be careful. If it sounds to go to be true, it probably is.

Reply:I have been on Phentermine for 3 months and I've lost over 35lbs :bouncing: . I will be going to the weight loss clinic to be weighed on Monday and I can tell that I've lost more since the last time I went. I don't have any side effects at all. When I get to my goal I will change my lifestyle completely because there is no way I'm going to go back to the same size again.

Reply:The box is right. The medicines work, you just have to find the right one for you, and then once you lose the weight and stop taking the pill the affects are going to wear off. The pills only speed up the weight loss, they don't magically take it off and hold it off, they help and give you self confidence, you have to eat healthy, follow the food pyramid for energy, fruits and cereals and proteins give you energy. Good luck with the weight loss and don't let anyone discourage you, if it's working for you then keep it up.

Reply:your absolutly lucky to have that kind of drive i try to tell myself no one will take better care of you than your self …..yess it's easy to eat right and exercise…but i like many others just can't seem to get it together********open to any persuasions

Reply:Only problem is my medical insurance isn't covering it so it's costing me about $100 per persrcription.

Where are you having your prescription filled? I just started last week as well, and my insurance will not cover it either. I got 30 days worth for around $20 at Walgreens – that's just cash price, no insurance.

I've lost about 5 lbs. already and feel great!

Reply:First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!!! It's a good feeling isn't it?
I am also on the Phentermine—so far I've lost about 15 lbs.!

I too disagree with the poster regarding the "side effects". This diet aid is simply to help suppress your appetite. For me, what that means is that I tend to make healthier choices and I eat less. I don't have cravings for some of the stuff that I used to and when I am hungry, I just simply need to eat enough to take the edge off of the hunger. Often times, just a few bites of something will suffice. It's very easy to starve yourself while on this drug though–because it does do such a good job of suppressing your appetite so a lot of people forget to eat. That can be dangerous so I make a point of starting out with a good breakfast everyday and then I usually nibble on a lot of fruits most of the day and a very small dinner. Also, I drink a ton of water!
I also excercise.

The bottome line is that it depends on the attitude you have when starting. You have to WANT to remain healthy and lose weight so you have to be willing to make those changes that will sustain your loss when you get off of the drug. Phentermine simply helps me do that. I want to try to stay on them for 2-3 months which is the amount of time that I think I realistically need to have my new healthy habits in place and I won't need to rely on a pill to suppress my appetite. I will just naturally make better choices!

Reply:maybe for you summer, but i have taken this medicine in the past and did not have that reaction. You do have to make or yes the weight will comeback. I learned that the hard way the 1st time around. Now I am making the proper and learning how to eat the right stuff and will not settle for anything else.

Reply:the side effect is as soon as you stop the phentermine you'll be exhausted and the fat will just seem to roll on…..been there and done that

Reply:Hey Yvonne,

I am doing it through my doctor. He prescribed the medication. Only problem is my medical insurance isn't covering it so it's costing me about $100 per persrcription.
