Low Carb and Scarsdale Diet Recipes
Reply:Just because something is natural that doesn't always guarantee that it is good for you. don't prevent the body from absorbing the calories from the carbs. could also be dangerous to diabetics by lowering thier blood sugar levels. What I don't get is why mess with nature? How about this starch/carb blocker diet, it's called the "Lip carb blocker" All you do is not let the carbs pass your lips, it's free and it is guaranteed to work.

Reply:Girlygirly, I would agree to the carb block non healthy issue, if it were not a natural supplement. Carb blockers, the pure form ones, contain nothing but kidney beans. Not the whole bean, the thin membrane cover that makes up the bean (you know the stuff that peels away when you are boiling beans) Just as the natural properties of the exoskeleton of shrimp and the like take to absorbing fats, so too the natual shell casing of the kidney bean absorbs the sugars in carbs.

I feel if you are eating a healthy diet, and you would like to jump start a block in wt loss, it couldn't harm to supplement the blocker, as long as you are eating a healthy well balanced diet, hey that snack that is heavily loaded in carbs won't mind if you chew a blocker.

Another added benefit, and one that refined foods has created a problem in our society, regularity. The are a Fiber, they collect, absorb and pass, as the chitosan is also a fiber, being regular can only add to ones health, as well as wt goals.

Good thoughts guy, thanks for sharing!

Scarsdale Low-Carb Diet.
Reply:It is both the fats and the refined carbs. The fats I am talking about is vegetable oil (soy, corn, canola). There are good carbs, fruits & vegetables, whole grains, and brown rice. Most of the bad carbs have alot of man-made ingredients in them, they are not even real food. Many people in the US eat all of that garbage and they wonder why they are getting fat. Doesn't anyone get it that eating all of this manmade stuff is being done at a very high cost to us as we do not know how it will affect us in the future. We are experiements. Has anyone watched the movie soylent green? If you eat fake food things will happen to your health, like gaining weight i.e. the obesity problem here and god only knows what else!

Oh and I would forget the carb blockers, or any kind of blocker. Do you think they are healthy? Do you think it is normal to block food from your body?

New! – Eat The Right Carbs – by Gilad
Reply:I hope I don't open a can of worms here, but if you ask an asian to give up rice…….the asians are thin, so it is not the carbs is it? What else could be the issue…..to many refined fats….eating out all the time, dunno, but again, I don't want to offend those that feel carbs are the enemy, I just thought if we look back in history…gosh the asians live off carbs, and by the way are highly intellengent….did you know that carb, complex and simple, feed the neurons that allow us to think and grow mentally?
Ask a person on Atkins about headaches….bet you will get a good story, my investigation shows the lack of fuel to the brain, the carbs, is what causes that.
Okay, so if our western cultures have lived and thrived off of carbs for centuries, why are we so quick to call them the bad guys? dunno, I really dunno. I do know though that if they are a bad guy, if I eat too many carbs, there is a carb blocker out there…on one now, sounds almost hypocritical. Just dunno yet. I guess what carbs is that is bad is……DOUGHNUTS…FRIED DOUGH….TEXAS TOAST…you see where I am going?
The occassional pita or pretzle is not going to make you fat, me thinks….its the fat added to the carb that will harm you…..no?

Reply:I have only heard used in the context of the Atkins plan.

In general the recommendation is to avoid refined carbohydrates (white flour, white rice, etc.) and concentrate on vegetables and fruits and whole grain products.
