Question about Green Tea [green tea diet] [green tea]
How much green tea or a person to take in pill form and are healthy for them?
I have heard so much about that green tea a good source of appetite suppresant and an anti-oxidant, and with a green tea diet pill and now have a number receently started drinking green tea with ginseng during the day as a supplement. Its pretty good. It has a touch of honey in it with no sugar, no calories or carbohydrates.
thanks for answers.
Reply:there are a few drawback to green tea that i read about from a dietary guide from readers digest; an ingredient in tea called tannin decreases iron absorption if tea is consumed with meals. and it has a diuretic effect and if too much is consumed and cause dehydration. so be careful!!! green tea has many benefits!!!
Reply:I, too, have recently been turned on to green tea. I've been enjoying the Republic of Tea varieties. The jade one with mint is unsweetened, but you could never tell. I'm a southerner, too, and thought I'd never kick my "sweet tea" addiction.
As for your question about how much is too much, I'm not much help. I can tell you a colleague of mine took green tea pills and drank a lot of it daily (like three to five big glasses), and she stopped because things started turning green, like the whites of her eyes, her pee and poo
I drink about two 12-ounce glasses a day on ice, but I don't take the pills. I haven't noticed any of the effects my friend did, thank goodness. I wasn't even aware of any weight-loss effects associated with it. I'd just read about the antioxidants and figured it must be better than the sugery processed stuff I'd been drinking.
Good luck & Cheers
