Question about weights and measures [height and weight] [size 6]
Okay, Ive been reading some posts (I really should get back to work!), And Ive noticed that people two or three inches taller than me (Im 55 “and currently weighs about 136) and weighing more than I have in a size 6 or 8, thats what Im wearing now.
For example, someone I just read about (can not remember the name) is more than 150, but is 58 “and bears and 8.
Am I just buy large sizes that run, or should someone of my height and weight wearing a size 6 or 8. These sizes are not too tight on me or might sound stupid anything.
I, but Im a blonde (right now anyway). ![]()
Reply:yea it has a lot to do with built… i have a pretty small built.. i'm suppose to be a small girl.. i naturally have small bones.. even when i was 144 pounds i could wear small t-shirt.. and size 8/9 pants.. i have pretty tiny wrists for someone my weight and i hold weight very well… most ppl think i'm like atleast 10 pounds smaller then i appear.. Also companys and clothing stores has a lot to do with it… some clothing stores.. i was able to fit a size 7 and some stores i had to wear a size 10…. so it really does vary on the cut and how the maker of the clothes made it.

Reply:Hi Froggie,
I'm one of those persons you're talking about. (smile) I'm 5'8", 153# and I can wear any size 8 with ease now. Finally!!!! That was my goal basically. In fact, most of my size 8s are fitting relaxed now. (not thrilled about that) I ordered a pair of size 6 capris that I rec'd yesterday and to my surprise, they too fit "relaxed" in the crotch & hips. Hmmmm. I ordered a size 6 so they would be FITTED. I was very happy in one sense, but I wanted these capris tight. (smile)
Geez, I said all that to say that the extra inches in height allows for a person to carry more weight than a shorter person with lower weight. Yes, it is a gift from above. (smile) I was in a size 8 comfortably even at 160#. I'm now bordering 6/8. Also, as the other poster mentioned, it depends on your frame. (skeletal). You either have a small, med or large frame. The larger the frame, the more weight you can carry without looking heavy. I have a bigger medium frame. (at the high end of med range) I hope this makes a little sense… However, I am curious about measurements, since we wear the same size. Mine are 36-28 3/4-38. I'm wondering if a person with my height has similar measurements as a shorter person, when they wear the same clothing size? Does that make sense? By the way, do you know your measurements? That is something I've been wondering. Thanks Froggie….BTW Keep up the good work!! I'm glad my post yesterday helped you out. We all need a little boost during this battle.

I think it has to do with the way a person is built.
I know so many people the same height some weigh less some a few more and the sizes of pants are so far away from each other.I may be wrong here, its just what I think. ![]()
