The 100 Calorie Diet – Wow!
Reply:Its true the closer you are to your goal the harder it gets to lose weight, but I am so far from my goal and I haven't budged a pound since last may. I am hoping my increased thyroid meds plus stopping the bc pill will help. I just turned 33 in December too. I heard its easier to get the weight off now in your 30's than when your in your 40's so this is the decade and at the rate I'm going it will take the whole decade!!!! Best of luck to you to!!

Reply:Ephedra drugs? Oh, how I remember those, I remember I was looking at this photo last month and my husband say "When was that?-what were you doing then?" (using that dubious tone like it's a miracle you could be that small!) and I was like "when I was on Ripped Fuel"-I was shaky and didn't sleep most of the time, but oh boy was I thin. Of course, now since I have a child I wouldn't take a chance on that stuff…oh sweet, memories  Anyway, back 2 the question, I am 32 soon to b 33.
I really think (or want 2 believe) that the closer you are to your "goal weight" or the less weight you have to lose-it's harder…so I am trying to stay positive and try to get suggestions of these boards. Good luck 2 u! :bouncing:

Reply:Nikki125, thanks for the laugh, I just read your post to my mom and we had a good laugh. I so can relate to you. I would kill just to get ito the 130's and to think back in the day I would think if I was in the 130's I was fat! Doesn't it piss you off when these people get back into their clothes like nothing after having babies!! I guess the thing with me is I have a few issues. One being the thyroid problem, which I don't know if I can blame my lack of weight loss on that. Then there is the fact that I used to do a lot of the ephedra drugs and my exercise physiologist said those drugs once you stop using them actually make it more difficult to lose weight. Then there is the problem of my standards being very high because I used to be in such great shape. One more question….then I promise no more…how old are you?

Reply:Nikki125, if you don't mind me asking what are your stats? Weight, height, etc? And what are your goals? I'm 5'51/2", 145 lbs, 31% bodyfat trying to get back to my prepreg weight of 125lbs 20% bodyfat.
Stats: 5'1…140/ 29 percent bodyfat  wanting 2 get down 127 (although right now I would take 130, heck I'd take 135!!) Pregnancy is so weird, I had my baby almost 2 years ago and struggling, I know people who have their child and it's like BAM next week-they can fit into their small Jeans…the skanks :p

Reply:I know what you mean about getting stuck in a plateau, I was there, I only have 10 more lbs to lose.. I lost a total of 25 lbs.. but got in a plateau for about 3 months now I changed somethings around and now I'm losing again…. I work at a gym, for the government, so I've been given alot of info through out the year to help me, I eat the same amount of calories as you do, I'm 5 7" 140lbs… what helped me is of course eating right, and the right amount of calories 5 small meals aday…. I lift weights cuz as you build muscle, muscles burns more calories than fat does so the more toned muscles you have the more calories you'll burn each day… have you tried the HIIT in your cardio?? if you don't know what that is, it's High Intensity Interval Training… it is a technique of alternating short 30-60 sec periods of very high intensity aerobics w/ short periods of low to moderate intensity.HIIT burns a lot of calories during the workout, but where it really shines is after the workout, you metabolic rate stays elevated longer after the workout is over, than a regular steady state of cardio.. heres an example of what I mean
level 3: 5 min (warmup)
level 5: 1 min (work interval)
level 4: 1min (recovery)
level 6: 1 min (work " )
level 4: 1 min ( recovery" )
level 7: 1 min (work " )
level 4: 1 min recovery ")
level 8: 1min ( work ")
level 4: 1 min ( recovery " )
level 9: 1 min (work " )
level 4: 1 min ( recovery ")
level 10: 1 min work " )
level 3: 5 min cooldown
this is an example of course, you'll need to adjust the workout based on your fitness level you can adjust the duration of the intervals, the # of intervals performed and the difficulty level. you can perform similar workouts on almost any piece of equipment even running, do the sprint, jog intervals for running, that's what I do if you do this 3 days aweek depending on your fitness level, that will break the plateau, it did for me after 3 months in it… I know how frustrating it is to hit a plateau but don't give up, I almost did until I started this…. now I do this 3 days a week and between those days I do high intensity workouts non stop for 30 min, it gets the calories burning, you have to bump up the intensity in your cardio to start seeing fat loss again if not all your doing is just maintaining your weight…after a while your body adjusts to the workout you have given it so switch it up, be creative, get your body guessing every time. sorry this was long but I really wanted to share this w/ you, I hope this will work for you, if you haven't already done this….

Calorie Confusion-Quick, Easy & Permanent Weight Loss
Reply:Justanother girl…"clichy" means that healthboards doesn't want you to start threads where people that have similiar goals postonly to each other (for example: a thread could be like People who want to lose 10 pounds post here)these kinds of threads lead to people being excluded-the info should be universal to us all whether we need to lose 2 lbs/10lbs or 100 lbs.
I was asking about Bluehen b/c I have baffled my personal trainer AND dietician. No one can understand WHY I can't lose weight. I food journal /count calories /exercise my butt off (I wish  ) /my thyroid is okaybut seemed to have no results. I was wonder on how to break the plateau-my gut feeling is that maybe b/c I have less to lose then it (the fat) is just being stubborn-I refuse to think that I can't lose this weight-I just won't/can't accept it…so I was looking for suggestion from people that seem silmilar to me.

Reply:Hi guy, well to answer your question, I have to give you my full story so bear with me a minute. Not sure how much you know about me because I post different information on different boards, but I am 14 months post a twin pregnancy. After doing a 1300 calorie diet for 6-7 months trying to lose the post preg weight, I stopped losing weight and I was completely stuck. Whenever I have gotten stuck in the past I have always taken an ephedra product to unstick me, but they are banned now. So I went for professional help at a weight loss place near me that focuses on losing weight and gaining muscle through exercise and diet. They immediately said 1300 calories was too little calorie intake for the amount of exercise I do. They actually wanted me eating about 1800, but I thought that was too much so we compromised to 1700 on workout days 1500-1600 on non workout days. Now to answer your question, yes my energy felt much better, and I needed that running after 2 babies, but as far as weight loss, unfortunately no. They kept trying to change my ratio of fat protein and carbs, but nothing. Also recommended some supplements too. They were surprised I didn't budge anything. Now I am hypothyroid, and my numbers are off so they sent me back to my endocrinologist because they believe that is the reason for my lack of weight loss, thyroid effects the metabolism. So I go back in 3 weeks for a blood test and for right now I am sticking to my routine and diet until I get my thyroid issue straightened out. Sorry so long, but you had to know my history before I could answer the question.
