Questions about the diet [diet sodas] [gain weight]
Hello everyone. I recently had a baby and need to lose about 25-30 pounds. I do not know much about diet and I hope some of you here could help me. If you only eat fat free food you can still weight? What about diet drinks? What are some foods I should avoid? I drink lots of water, lots of water to ensure that I gain more weight? What is fat colories, satuarated fats, and all that stuff? (All this I read the labels just really confuses me) Can someone please give me the run down on this point. Also Im just afraid that if I start training, I will start to get all the muscles, how does this work?

Absolutely! I low-fatted my way up to 223 lbs.
what about diet sodas?
Some people do fine with them, others it causes a weightloss stall.
What are some foods that I should avoid?
Foods containing transfats, which would be any type of fat or oil the appears with the word "hydrogenated", partially hydrogrenated", or "fractionated". Studies have shown a direct correlation to artery-clogging plaques and should be avoided like the plague.
I drink alot of water, will to much water cause me to gain more weight?
No. If anything, it should have the opposite effect.
What is fat colories, satuarated fats, and all that stuff?(all of this stuff I read on labels just really confuses me) Can someone please just give me the run down on this.
From the Weston A. Price Foundation
These nutrient-rich traditional fats have nourished healthy population groups for thousands of years:
Butter
Beef and lamb tallow
Lard
Chicken, goose and duck fat
Coconut, palm and sesame oils
Cold pressed olive oil
Cold pressed flax oil
Marine oils
These new-fangled fats can cause cancer, heart disease, immune system dysfunction, sterility, learning disabilities, growth problems and osteoporosis:
All hydrogenated oils
Soy, corn and safflower oils
Cottonseed oil
Canola oil
All fats heated to very high temperatures in processing and frying
Also I am just worried that if I start exercising that I will start to get all muscular, how does this work?
That's a common misconception. You will NOT get all "muscular-like". You will gain muscle (you DO want that, trust me!), and muscle looks sleeker and sexier on a body. Also, more burns fat constantly, as opposed to little muscle (the "skinny fat person").
The only way your will gain alot of "bulk" is if you startexcessive heavy weightlifting (more than 3 hrs. a day).
Reply:Hi!
First I just want to say congrats on your new baby!! In my opinion, the best thing to do is choose a diet that is best for you. Something you can live with for the rest of your life. I like to keep my calories low (but not too low!!) and keep my fat, carb, and protien intake in balance. You can gain wait from eating fat free foods because they are usually beefed up with sugar and carbs. Just try making healthy choices. Gets lots of veggies and fruits and definitly alot of fiber!!! Eat lean meats and healthy treats. You can indulge in fat free foods so long as you do it in moderation. I really like the Smartones Desserts when I have a sweet craving. As for excercise, you wont get all muscular if you dont want to. Get some cardio and strength training with light weights. It is important to build up muscle as well as lose fat. I use 3, 5, and 8 pound weights. I just want to be toned and firm, not look like a body builder!! Just do what is best for you!!
Good Luck!!
