Raise your hand if you lost weight using CLA [food experts] [google]

Hi, I see so many ppl asking about CLA and what it is and if one can lose weight by using it to curb their appetitite.

I had the same questions in mind, but I went to the handy dandy to get answers. Maybe some ppl are not aware of what can do for them.

I shown that CLA is good for the immune system, should be safe to use. The confusion with all the tell us what to eat and what is good for us. Never mind that we are not all the same .

I for a finding that eating refined Carbos will be my fall. That includes white rice, bread and sugar.

They told us not to eat fat . fat makes us fat. Not so, why are U.S. ppl thicker because they started the low-fat diets

To . To make a long story short, CLA is a fat . from safflower. It is a good fat.

This is my 10th day of that collective agreement for each meal, I have lost 5 pounds. I feel good. I am also following a low-carbo diet, one that suites me . I made it after examining all the low carbohydrate diet. I think their food plan unreal. Note that it is close to one of them. Just to find food to buy amd my shop in my town. My diet is low glysemic. spelling may be off

Hope this helps some of you. Love to hear how the rest of you are doing that are taking CLA.


Reply:I've been taking CLA with every main meal for the past 2 and a half weeks (had used some of the bottle in previous months, but not consistantly til now). The first week I lost 3 lbs., which made me pretty happy. The second week I lost 3.5 lbs, which made me even happier. This week so far I have lost 1.5 lbs.

Now I don't know if the CLA has anything to do with my weight loss, I am taking it mostly because it helps sustain muscle while losing fat. I have cut my calorie intake way, way down and don't have anything refined or processed, and never eat 4 hours before bed. I have been doing a lot of cardio, plus weight training 3 times/week. Also, at the end of last week I decided to try an ECA stack (which is 25 mg Ephedra, 200 mg caffiene, and about 325 mg asprin). I am "making" my own by buying all the ingredients seperately-it's cheaper and easier to regulate the exact dosage. The ECA stack is in most common diet pills, like Hydroxycut (Ephedra was banned in diet pills in my state due to some dumb high school wrestlers abusing it, not eating and then going in a sauna wrapped in garbage bags to try and make their weight class, but it is the main ingredient in some athsma medication tablets).

So anyway (sorry to go on forever), my main point is, I am losing weight, so I am not about to stop taking the CLA because I don't know if it had anything to do with it. It's good for you anyway, so it can't hurt.

Reply:So, any updates from the CLA users? I am very interested in trying some of this, I've done some internet searching and have read about women losing body fat over a 1 year period without changing anything.

I am curious whether CLA in combination with following the weight watchers program and getting regular exercise would be beneficial to me? Would it help me see results quicker?

Anyone out there seeing success with CLA and following a eating plan and exercising regularly to lose weight?


Reply:Sorry for the confusion.. And I apologized for not being specific. I was fasting for a religious celebration. Normally, fasting is abstaining from solid foods. When i consume one meal, it was a rather small portion that a five year old would eat anyways. I wouldnt be able to survive 9 days of no food.

Thank you Cypriss.. and I started running today after so long.. it felt so good and im goign to keep it up!!! I kinda gain up 2lbs… but its probably my weight fluctuating.

Im gonna continue to take 3 CLA a day.. and hope it will help me lose the other 5lbs…

Reply:Well, the reason I chimed in was because when she said she "fasts for 9 days", I was, admittedly, concerned. Because no human being should go 9 days without eating. It's not whether she personally "calls" it fasting, it's the fact that she raised concern with her post. If what she's doing is working for her, that's great. But the reason I said she needs to be a little more specific is because she had us assuming that she hasn't EATEN FOOD in 9 days.

That's why we said something.

Normally.. my typical diet is eating one meal a day and having healthy snacks occasionally throughout the day. And I was still taking CLA 3 times a day.. I lost 5lbs in 6 days.

Right now, My goal is lose another 4lbs.. so im starting a new workout goal to start running again.

Fasting means not eating. You can "fast" for one or two meals a day — but since you are eating snacks along with the one meal – you're not fasting.


Reply:Oh. Well you might want to be a little more specific in the future because fasting to MOST PEOPLE means not eating. That's what a 'fast' is, going without food. So technically you're not fasting.

You would have lost the weight by fasting with or without the CLA.

Reply:I tried CLA but no results. Maybe I didn't do it right. At first, I bought the liquid, which was pretty nasty tasting; after I finished off that bottle, I wasn't going to throw in the towel yet, so I bought the 1000mg. gelcaps from GNC. I took 1 at breakfast and 1 at lunch. No weight loss. I do want to say, however, that I am trying to lose only 10 lbs. at most. I eat a low carb diet, but I'm afraid I don't get a lot of exercise. I thought I read somewhere that it just helps build muscle, so without exercise, it might not work for me at all. I have a nerve problem in one foot that prevents me from doing the kind of walking I really need to do. (sigh) Guess I'll have to break down and have surgery on that foot so I can get moving again. So….any advice? Those of you who have lost weight – do you use the liquid or gelcap form of CLA? How much/many do you take in a day? How long have you been taking it? I still have some gelcaps. If you think I should, I'll give them another try.

Reply:I think, I read somewhere, where if does something for muscle. I am rarely hungry, I can skip a meal or two and not miss it now. I take vitamins. Plus other supplements.

I see you're on the South Beach diet. I am too, m ore or less, I skipped the first phase. I think if I was taking the CLA when I started it, I could have gone thru the first pharse with ease.


Reply:Oh right, so it doesn't speed up metabolism or helps maintain muscle and break down bodyfat? Just suppresses hunger? Cause I'm hardly ever hungry unless I haven't eaten on schedule.

Safflower oil has CLA, an ingredient which helps control appetite. I am taking 1 softgel cap before each meal. I bought it at GNC health food store.

I want to lose the exess lbs I put on after my foot surgery. I am following a food plan. I am excersiing on a machine. I am stating to lose weight.

I don't feel deprived. I feel I am under control now, I can do it.

Let you know more, next time I weigh myself.

I would like to hear m ore from the other ppl who are taking the CLA, how are they doing and have they reached their goal?.


Reply:so it's basically safflower oil? so that would be better than olive oil then? so i should use safflower oil instead of olive oil? would that help me lose weight?

Reply:To answer your question. Yes I am working out, I am using a tony little machine, similiar to a thread mill, I have bad knees. I tried the thread mill, it is a good machine if your knees and hips can take it.

If you only eat one meal a week you can harm yourself. Not only that you will lower your metabolism, so when you do start eating again , you will regain all that weight back plus more.

I think you can safely lose 10lbs a month. It is possible for you to lose 30lbs in that time frame that you desire, you know what an impact that will make on your apprearance. ( a huge one).

Reply:Are you working out at all,which is better liquid or capsuls?I like to lose 50 pounds in 3 mounths..Just need some help to get me there.I'm going to start going on the treadmill and cut eating out to once a week.
