Return to the nut thing. [loose weight] [low carb]
What do you think, if I cut all the nuts and coffee from my diet that would help me lose weight? Im on low-carb .

Reply:Some people claim caffeine has no impact on their weight lose, others that it does. So the only way to know for sure is to try yourself and see what happens.
I agree that the menu you posted could stand some more low carb veggies. The added nutrients might even help the weight loss effort! Plus the addition might help you cut down on the peanut butter a little!

Let me ask a question– when you loose your weight — do you plan on sticking with the atkins matienence routine? Where you add 5 more carbs every week until you no longer loose (I think that's how it works).
What I try to tell myself is that I'm making a life change. Eating more healthy getting more exercize. I tried atkins, and it didn't work for me (i hated having to count how many carbs everything was! Very annoying to me!) So I'm just eating more healthy — more veggies, if I have carbs, its whole wheat or other grains, and much less fat. I'm experimenting with soy products, and healthy snacks. I do eat protien bars tho, because of having many hours of school, and needing to get some snackin in.

Reply:To be honest, I don't think low carb is all that healthy. Your menu is a prime example of that. You have eggs, meat, more eggs, nuts, and maybe a handfull of veggies and a synthetic meal replacement. Do ya think maybe your body is trying to tell you that it wants more variety…more healthy foods?
It sounds like you need to follow a plan. The Myoplex is not allowed on Atkins or South Beach. And nuts are only allowed in fixed quantity. If you are set on doing low-carb, I suggest you read up on the correct way to do it.
Alternately, maybe low-carb is not the best plan for you. If it's not working, or if you can't stick to the plan, then switch to a plan you can follow. Try South Beach, Zone, Body-for-LIFE, or one of the many other more moderate plans. Experiment until you find one that makes sense.

Reply:I've been doing low-carb diet. I would have eggs in a morning, thats if I eat breakfast, and coffee. At lunch I would have for example a grilled chicken salad with no cheese or croutons, or I would have a tuna salad. Dinner, (dont laugh) I would have scrambled eggs or a Myoplex low-carb drink. And then,.. I would eat a lot of nuts, or peanut butter!! A lot!! heheh. I know I'm not eating a lot throughout the day maybe not even enough, but I'm not losing weight either. I exersize daily, half an hour of cardio/weights in the morning and a 45 min class lunch time, which is usually step, yoga, aerobics. HELP!!!! Why am I stuck?

If you are aiming for low-carb/low-fat, that leaves protein as your main energy source. Protein is great for rebuilding tissue, but it's not a good energy source.
If you are going low-carb, you need fat as an energy source. If you want to do low-fat, then you need carbs as an energy source. Pick one or the other.
