Reply:I feel your pain. Just know you're not alone. You've already been given great advice, so I don't want to be too repeatitive. If you start feeling hungry when you know you're reall not (and just want the taste of something or are bored), go for a walk, call a friend, go online, do something to keep your mind busy. Just the other day, I had a strong craving for chocolate, but instead I picked up my guitar and learned to play a new song. Or, go brush your teeth or eat an Altoid or chew really strong gum. Then you won't want to eat anything anymore. Or maybe it's something that doesn't even have to do with food?

You've gotten some terrific advice and support already. FWIW, I ruined my plan yesterday, too. Went to a concert at a strange time (5:30 p.m.), so by the time we got out, there weren't really any quick dinner options but a fast-food joint. That was my addiction, Wendy's double cheeseburgers. I hadn't had fast food in exactly eight weeks.

You know what? Today is a new day, tho! It is for you, too. Start fresh with the "healthy" mindset.

Have you thought of a support group like WW? I've never belonged, but I have a lot of friends who do. You have someone to "answer" to, you know?

Surrealmeal gave you an incredible list. I think I'm going to print that one out myself and clip it on my fridge! The only thing I would add is if the cakes and sweets are your favorites and you don't have control in the stores walking by them, go do your errands full. Eat something before you head out so you're full.

Also, you can make a lot of goodies yourself at home and add stuff to them to make them very healthy, but still delicious and decadent. You can even portion them out and individually wrap them so you're not tempted to eat half a bread or half a cake in one sitting.

Finally, ice cream is one of my favs, too, especially with this heat. I couldn't believe how many frozen yogurt/reduced sugar options there are at the market. Healthy Choice has a caramel ice cream bar that's out of this world. I also tried a Klondike variety called Low Bear or something. Fantastic!

I feel the same way. Locally, we've got Dryer's at 1.99 each with coupon( Stater Bro's). I thought the Splenda one's would be better, but every morning I get on the scale, DAMN!! it makes no difference. I'm going thru my bipolar cycles, I'll binge, evac, then I'll run till I puke. I've gained 4 pounds and I feel so guilty(so I'll run extra harder). When will it ever end? jeez, shoulda stuck to cerlery and carrot sticks!! :D

Reply:Don't be so hard on yourself, especially if you might be starting your period soon (I get ravenous hunger during that time o'month). We ALL make mistakes during this process known as weight loss, even those of us who end up succeeding; it's only human. I know it's hard not to want to beat up on yourself for slipping up, but you must try to just move forward. Beating up on yourself is completely counterproductive; you eat too much, then you feel like crap, which lowers your self-esteem and motivation until you think you should just give up. I know it all too well. Don't let this cycle perpetuate! It offers nothing but heartache. Do not let the few square inches of taste buds on your tongue dictate how the rest of your body lives and feels.
Some things that have been helping me lately:
~lots of hot tea (nips cravings in the butt)
~bubble baths and hot showers
~tons of water
~fresh fruit smoothies
~sewing (once I get wrapped up in a project, I nearly forget I have a stomach)
~deep breathing when I begin to get anxious and wanting to give up
~reading/posting on here
~the fact that I have tasted all the foods I crave, yet I have never tasted thinness
~writing in an online journal–
I've been using Fitday, mainly for its journal function and I must say I REALLY recommend it. Whenever I'm at the computer and want to start munching away, I'll open up my Fitday journal and just start typing.

I don't know if anything I said helped; maybe you just needed to vent. But I really wish you good luck.

Reply:I feel the same way….I've been so stressed lately (boyfriend going to college, i'm moving to Europe in a matter of weeks) that all I do is eat. i've been hating myself for days now. Sorry I don't have advice, just comiserating. :-(
