South Beach success so far [low glycemic index] [glycemic index diet]
Reply:My chiropractor reccommended that I try the South Beach Diet, as well. I bought the book and so far it sounds like it might work. I think I'm going to give it a go. It's good to hear some real stories of how it works.
Best wishes for your continued weight loss! I think it will work out for me, too!
Reply:Go ahead, we are all with you in this endeavor
Reply:I have hypothyroid and my brother has diabetes so the Endocrinologist said I am probably insulin resistant. I think all the hormone problems are tied in.
I usually do not tell this but I have gone from 190 to 178 now in 25 days. My 14's are loose. I have stalled a few times.. but so far so good. I am going to keep at it. Was I really 135 for 28 years?
Eggs, turkey bacon, I love the Southbeach Wraps, cheese sticks, sugar free jellos, I love the Breakfast bars and meal replacement bars.
I pray it keeps up and no pizza or sweets for me……………….. there is a South beach frozen pizza but our Walmart here does not carry it. My weakness is Jelly Bellies and good Pizza. Both a big NONO for me.
I am going to keep going. Thanks !!!!!!!!!!! Oleander:wave:
Reply:Congrats!! That's awesome to hear! I myself have been Hypothyroid for 8 years now (I'm 20) and I know how hard it is for us to lose weight! I've been "loosely" following the low glycemic diet and mianly consuming eggs, lf cheese, chicken, veggies and I think I too have slimmed down a bit. I bet if I really stuck to it or was serious about it, I'd drop the weight fast. It's weird how this type of diet seems to work for us!!!

Reply:Congratulations on your success thus far! That's awesome. And I'm glad to hear that you've found a sensible way to eat that leaves you feeling satisfied. That means you can live with the lifestyle and won't "go off your diet" and gain the weight back. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.
