to maintain weight after a diet? [decrease calories] [ladies and gentlemen]
I want a little weight to lose and then maintain . I do not really understand this prospect. I know you to lose weight exercise and decrease calories to increase . but to maintain your weight, what time the exercise / calories compared to your old eating habits and your diet? How do you keep from losing more weight, but not for the old weight back? I would appreciate comments, thanks a ton ladies and gentlemen
Reply:lol… worry bout losing it first
Reply:"If you always eat what you always ATE, you'll always weigh what you always WEIGHED."
You can NEVER go back to the old diet!
Reply:Regardless of the diet or exercise program you follow, there are only 2 things that matter when it comes to losing weight; the number of calories you eat AND the number of calories you burn.
It?s quite simple
calories you eat > calories you burn = weight gain
calories you eat = calories you burn = maintain weight
calories you eat < calories you burn = weight loss
There are no good or bad calories. No matter where they come from ? fat, alcohol, carbs or protein – a Calorie is nothing more than a packet of energy.
We burn Calories (use energy) to keep our body temperature at 98.6° F, maintain our muscles and organs, breath, think, walk, and play sports.
When we rest or sleep we burn the smallest amount of Calories. When we chop wood at a high pace we burn a very large number of Calories
.
To lose weight you can increase the calories you burn or decrease the number of calories you eat (burn more calories than you eat). If you reach your desired body weight you can maintain it by burning a little less or eating a little more (burn as many calories as you eat).
To get started you can try to determine how many calories you eat and burn during your day. If you can, start a food & activity journal (remember, food or your diet is just 1 of the 2 key factors when it comes to weight loss). You can use nutrition labels, books (nutrition facts) and websites (food and activity references) to do this.
If this is too much work you can also increase the number of calories you burn (become more active), and/or decrease the number of calories you eat, and see how your body reacts. I prefer a food & activity journal, it takes some of the guess work out.
Well Said! Right on the money!
