Expecting Mother’s Guide to Water Births
Reply:Exactly.

As crazy as it sounds, you need to drink MORE water in order to avoid retaining it. Your body "retains" it when it goes into dehydration mode, it's forced to hold onto what little water is there to keep itself hydrated. If you drink enough water to satisfy your body's need, it won't hold onto the extra water anymore.

I'm on a diuretic for my blood pressure. So I'm losing more water than normal. but it only makes a small, insignificant difference in my weight, mostly because I drink plenty of water to put it back. If you take diuretics and don't replace the water you lose, you're risking serious health problems. And the tiny amount of 'weight' that you lose (which isn't even fat) isn't worth that.

Reply:someone told me once that if you start drinking more water than you usually do… like a LOT of water then your body will drain out all the water it is holding in because it realizes that it doesnt need to hold extra water anymore because it's getting a sufficient amount of water then, then you can lose up to 15 pounds of water weight.

I can tell you, however, that are only temporary weight loss. And very little loss at that. Also, if you take them too long, you run the risk of dehydrating yourself and losing valuable potassium and magnesium.

It's really not worth it. There *is* no 'quick fix' to weight loss, it must be done gradually with proper diet and exercise. I know most people hate hearing that, I used to hate hearing it as well. I wanted to lose weight but I didn't want to sacrifice my favorite foods and was too lazy to exercise. Then after years of trying (and I do mean YEARS) stupid quick-fixes, I finally realized that I had to break down and do what works – I've cut my food intake almost in half. I'm eating very little saturated fat. I eat breakfast now, which I never used to do, a bowl of oatmeal or cheerios every morning. And I walk several times a week. Guess what? I'm losing weight. For the first time in over 5 years, I'm losing weight.

Be careful of the quick-fixes that promise fast and rapid weight loss, even with the diuretics. Not only are they bogus, but some can be dangerous if abused.

Herbal products also have side effects. I have seen people use products which claim they reduce your weight, bring your hips back to normal but they come with a price. I have heard so much about the side effects that I am scared to trust any product from the store. Don’t trust any product if they don’t have the necessary quality certifications.
