Weight Loss Problem! [body mass index] [anxiety panic]

I am morbidly obese and have a of 55. I take 30 mg. of Remeron for anxiety / panic / depression. This medication tricks my brains into thinking that I am always hungry which explains why Im so overweight. Ive asked my doctor and he Xenecal leans more toward me with the prescription of Remeron and another anti-depressant, as opposed to giving me Xenecal. Is there someone in my shoes? HELP! Im at the end of my rope and close to giving up completely! Thanks in advance to whoever replies:)

Reply:Hey guy,

I certainly hope you don't mean what it sounds like when you say give up on it all. I don't know what my BMI is, but I would guess it is pretty high also. I am 6'2 and wiegh 491 as of this morning…so, I am morbidly obese.
I work with folks who take medications, and you should know that meds are only going to mask and comfort the issues it won't make them go away, you actually need to work on the problems to make headway and have a lasting resolve to life. And losing weight is great for your health and self well being, but it is not the sole reason for how you feel now. Exercising will help..I know this, but even myself, don't practive what I preach. Are you physically able to walk or have access to a pool for some basic exercise?

So, please, contact your doctor for a referral to counselor or psychologist and address that statement, and also talk to your MD regarding the anxiotic meds.
By no means am I doctor, psychologist or counselor..I work in law enforcement and I am a behavioralist. I don't know you but what you wrote is very scary and you need to address that with some one immediately.

I hope that I see something from you soon, even if you are telling me to go to hell or something….just please talk to someone ASAP.
