weight watchers flex point [flex point] [far thanks]
Can someone tell me more about this new program? I know that there are no longer reach a point and you get 35 points flex, so there is no longer necessary for the bank points.
how know what you are given points based on your weight? I tried to find information about these and can not far.
thanks for your time

Reply:Thank you so much JodiMarie. This will help me a lot, and I intend to check into the WW on line instead of the meetings. From what you say I believe the cost will be more than it was when I attended a few years ago.
You are a nice lady, thank you.

Reply:Ok, the Activity points for the treadmill are:
20 mins=1 pt
30 mins =1 pt
40 mins =2 pts
50 mins =2 pts
60 mins =2 pts… this is walking
Walking briskly:
20 mins=1 pt
30 mins-2 pts
Running at a 9 mph pace:
20 mins= 2 pts
30 mins= 3 pts
40 mins=4 pts and so on
It had points for 5,6,7,and 8 mph paces also, all being more ap's
Reply:Elizabeth Marie: I use the WW Online (It's a monthly charge) and it has an activity points calculator. You put in how long you exercised, how intense (slow, moderate, or fast) and what you did and it tells you the points. I'm not sure about the treadmill…I can check for you, but I usually do the elliptical, moderately for 30 minutes and it's 2 pts. Also, weight training ( I go to a curves-like gym) for 30 mins is also 2 pts. Bike riding outside moderately for 45 mins is 4 pts. Aerobics is similar to elliptical. If I do the elliptical for 40 mins it comes out to 3 pts. This is my 2nd week on WW Online and I've lost 1/2 lb but it;s that time of the month so it's not accurate. But I feel toner, and tighter.
DW: Yes, your target would be 24. It's actually 2 pts higher than what your lowest point range is. I'm going to check on the treadmill and I'll let you know. Activity pts are the same except you don't carry them over to the next day. If you don't use them (eat them) the day you earn them, they are lost, aiding in weight loss. Like before you used to be able to save up ap's till the weekend and use them on a splurge…that's what the flex points are for, making it more flexible. It's also a way of getting you to work out more, cuz if you earn ap's, you can eat more pts, conserving your flex points. Your Ap's are Always used before flex pts.
I don't go to meetings, I;ve done that in the past, but it doesn;t last. I get too busy to go, or make excuses not to go. So I love the Online program cuz I'm on the PC everyday. It has tons of tools and info, recipes, tips, restuarant points, calculators, etc. It was 59.99 for 3 months and 14.95/month after that. Its much cheaper that WW meetings….i think that's like $15/week or something.
good luck!!

Reply:Jod,
Thanks so much I want to try this program. I have one more question. If your weight is aroud 195 and your old point range is 22-27…would that make my points 24 points that I have to reach?? How are the activity points diff?
BTW thanks so much for everyones time
God bless
Reply:lol!!! ap = activity points! hahaha

Reply:LOL! AP! I think you were actually being converted into an activity or a reward!!
Reply:hey!
whos converting me to into food?
LOL.
Reply:Thank you, JodiMarie. You gave some real good info. I am on the WW diet just using materials I got from the a few years back and not attending meetings. Since I saw you message I think I will start the meetings again but not until I get back from a trip in late September, since I don't want to pay for meetings I miss while I am gone.
One question, if you don't mind…about the activity points. Could you give me just an example of what you would need to do to get a couple of APs, such as 20 minutes on the treadmill or something. I would so appreciate it.
I simply cannot stay on any diet except the WW one since it allows you to eat anything from any food group as long as you count the points. My weight loss is only about a pound a week, but I can more or less count on it.
Thanks again.

Reply:DW,
You are given a target number of points you are supposed to hit each day. It is the middle number between your range. For instance, my range used to be 18-23 but now my target point is 20. So I have to hit 20 pts a day. Activity pts are different too. You can't carry them over to the next day. You are allowed to earn up to 4 pts in activity pts per day. Next, you get 35 flex points per week that resets each week. You can use those 35 points however you want…all in one day or spread them out a little each day. If you go over your target points and you have earned activity pts for that day the ap's are converted into food pts (only up to 4). So, say I ate 28 pts today and my target is 20 and I earned 2 activity points. The 2 ap's would be used for 2 food pts. and then the remaining 6 pts would come from my 35 flex pts. So my new Flex pt. total for the week would be 29. So even though I went over my target pts I'm not 'in the hole'. Do you understand? Did I make it complicated? It's a way of varying your daily pts. The fluctuation is supposed to be good for your metabolism. Some days you'll eat 20 points and maybe on a weekend day you could have like 40 pts. Seriously!! And you still lose weight! I really like this new plan…no more banking..it's very "flexible"!! The journals are now called "Point Trackers" and are balanced like a check book, starting out w/ 20 pts going down to 0. Hope this helps!
