What is the best appetite suppressant? [appetite suppressant] [loose weight]
Everyone has a good insight on this? I know everyone reacts differently to them all, but I was wondering if there is a really good there. I have a need that will help me lose weight quickly. My doctor has suggested Meridia. I will talk with him on Thursday, so I would like to know if there is something better. Thanks in advance. Kristy. ![]()

I've found that if I'm away from home and somewhere with lots of fatty food, I have a mint (velamints, altoids). As long as you don't eat like more than 2, and as long as the mints are low in fat and not extremley sugary, it can satisfy your feeling of "i need to eat!". This is what works for me! ![]()
How to Lose Weight, Forever!
Reply:WILLPOWER!! Appetite suppressants are very dangerous and personally I don't think there are any safe ones. I have a picture of myself before I lost roughly 100 pounds and I have it pinned on the fridge. I need to lose oh another 30 and I have a pic of my ideal body pinned on the fridge right next to the before pic. Also it helps if you have someone supportive that you can talk to if you feel the urge to eat. I get away from food when I get the urge, go for a walk.

Reply:guy,
That's interesting because I really don't like looking at myself. That's a good idea. Did you do a lot of exercising? How long did it take for you to lose 100 pounds and what exactly did you do on a day to day basis? Thanks for the help. Kristy.
101 Practical Weight Loss Tips
Reply:A mirror worked best for me. Anytime I wanted to eat, I'd look in a full length mirror. And that made me lose my appetite.
Now I'm down 100 pounds… and it's cheaper than pills..

Reply:Hi Kristy
Well I did stackers for a short time about a year ago and lost about 10lbs in 3 weeks. As for hydroxycut I did that quite awhile back but I did it over a summer with no exercise and I lost about 20lbs probably in 2 mos. for the past 2 yrs I have let the weight creep back up and now I'm getting serious. So I just started with Metabolift cause I can't get hydroxycut in my country it's banned!!

Reply:Hi all,
Just wanted to say that my doctor wasn't concerned or anything with my consumption of water but he said to be carefull. I've always been a huge water drinker and I have dramatically increased it recently since I've been trying to loose weight and since I've been hitting the treadmill. That's really all I drink all day, I don't drink anything else except for juice in the morning. I should keep track of how much water I drink in the average day, now I'm curious.
Anyway thanks for all of your replys. I'll be talking with my doctor this afternoon to see what he's going to put me on. I'm sure I'll have some questions that I hope some of you will be able to help me out with so I'll be in touch. Thanks again. Take care. Kristy.

A revolutionary new weight loss system that works
Reply:You're right about that, you CAN drink too much water. However, the articles on the matter that I had looked at don't say anything about flushing nutrients from the system, but more about "water intoxication" and decreasing salt in the body that we need for our tissues. This is what most of the articles talked about -
In the past few years studies have shown that many of us don't drink enough water for good health. Along with general healthy eating recommendations, most health promoters have urged us all to drink more water, particularly whilst exercising. The message has been strong – avoid dehydration.
However, there is a different story emerging, especially amongst people who exercise. According to researchers almost as many exercisers are putting their health at risk by over-consuming water as drinking too little.
Drinking water at every opportunity can cause serious problems, such as hyponatraemia or water intoxication. As the water content of the blood increases, the salt content is diluted. Consequently the amount of salt available to body tissues decreases, which can lead to problems with brain, heart and muscle function.
Initial symptoms of over-hydration include dizziness, nausea, apathy and confusion. However these symptoms are also associated with dehydration – so it's important to be aware of how much you are drinking.

Now, I'm guessing that in order for something like this to happen, you'd have to drink A LOT of water. I'm also guessing, based on this article and a few others I looked at, that water intoxication happens mostly in athletes who drink tons of water all day long. I'm not saying the average person couldn't intoxicate themselves, but it doesn't sound like it's a common occurance among your average dieter.
In other words, if you're drinking lots of water to control your appetite, drinking enough to intoxicate yourself is something I seriously doubt you have to worry about.

Reply:I been told that there is. When you drink too much water your body doesn't absorb enough nutrients because your body is flushing your system too quickly. Kristy.
That's the first time I've EVER heard that one and I've done so much research on foods, drink and diet that my eyes hurt.
Reply:I used to use appetite suppresents untill someone told me that many of them work by slowng down your metabolism, which suppresses your appetite. Whether that is true I dont' know, but I also did not like the feeling I get when I use them. They make me feel sick.
I used Apple Cider Vinegar pills as well which is suppose to make your metabolism faster, but they're useless as well. (In my case anyway.)
Reply:I live in the usa and the only stackers that worked well for me was the ones with ephedra and as you may know here you can't buy it anymore. Besides really it isn't good for you.
Over the counter this is what I take and probably isn't all that good for you either….
caffeine pills with asprin… Stackers was ephedra, caffeine, and asprin(white willow bark)… Maybe ephedrine, personally I don't like ephedrine.
Prescription wise, I have heard adipex is excellent.. I have tried Didrex and loved it. I lost weight got over my plateau that nothing else would work and was on for a month. However, these are or can be addictive so you really need to speak to your dr. I have also tried meridia and it wasn't bad but I needed something more for energy as I had none.
By the way I have lost now 73 lbs since Jan. of this yr.
The best thing really is water, exercise, and portion control. I see nothing wrong with an aid as long as you use it only as an aid and not a crutch or you may gain any weightloss back..
Good luck,
guy

Reply:*IS* there a such thing as drinking too much water?
lol
Reply:Thanks for the reply but I probably drink more water than I should, my doctor has actually told me to watch my water intake and to not go over board. Thank you though. Kristy.
Reply:Water.
If you drink lots of water, which is good for weight loss anyway, it keeps your appetite under control.
Reply:Hi,
I never use to be a fan of diet pills but when you have back problems like I do at the age of 22 there is only so much I can do to help myself. I need that extra boost and the appetite suppressant. I've been off work for 2 years and will be having surgery so this is something I need to do for myself and to make my recovery that much easier. I am working with my doctor on this and will have a well structure plan.
guy – I was wondering how much weight you lost on stackers and in what type of time span? How did dexatrim and hydroxycut work for you? I would appreciate any other info you could give me. Thank you very muck. Kristy.
Reply:I've found that nothing works as well as FOOD:D:D!
I'm averse to diet pills and think that a good diet should be structured to work WITH a healthy appetite rather than a suppressed one.
A cup of tea or coffee can often get one over a hunger urge temporarily.
Reply:I've tried stackers which you can get in any conveninece store and they work well and I've also tried Dexatrim and Hydroxycut.
