Why did I eat so much?

Why do I eat as much as I have my period, bad enough that I do when im not on my period and got even more food when I eat! i dont understand why this is normal .

Reply:what do you consider eating too much? if you are active and eating throughout the day you should be happy (provided you have not been restricting food for any reason whatsoever) eating constantly (when not recovering from losing weight or having stress ful days when not eating enough)

having a good appetite without weight gain coming with it shows you that your metabolism is at it's peak (tho I cannot know for sure not knowing you). I sometimes complain of seeming to eat all day, until realize I have been eating mostly fruits vegies and fruits juices (without added sugars or corn syrups) and lighter fare (lower fat type foods) so tho eating healthy the caloires were just not high enough so my body was asking for more and more throughout the day for the past few days,

tho for a day or two there I think my body was after salt, for some reason. anyway if you are eating real foods and not craving junk food that much I wouldn't worry about it, unless you are gaining weight and if you are then I don't recommend fighting it as the body knows what it is doing and knows that if it is given food in abundance (especially high quality foods) it will get you to get rid of the excess fat in time if you just listen carefully and trust your body to know better than any doctor or nutritionist.

it will in time reduce your appetite when it is ready (even if you are ready sooner)to get rid of excess fat when it is convinced through time that famines even mild ones are over forever.

RR (seems to be working for me and others so I cannot see why it won't work for others espcially when it is based on the body's biology.

Reply:It is COMPLETELY normal to eat more while you are on your period. In fact, I read somewhere that you burn about 17% more calories during this wonderful time of the month than you do normally, so shrug it off! I'm sure you find that you especially crave carbs and sweets (which are carbs, too). I think this is because carbs raise your serotonin, which tends to decrease during your period. Doesn't it make you feel better when it all makes sense and there is some biological reason for your cravings? It does for me….

No sweat!

Reply:Are the foods you are eating primarily carbohydrate-laden? If so, you might gain some insight into this from reading some of the low-carb plans.
