Yogurt and weight loss [weight loss efforts] [calories]
A few studies have recently come that eating yogurt three times a day helps you lose belly fat faster. Has anyone lost weight eating that much yogurt? I found a generic brand of yogurt that is fat free, sugar-free, and only 100 calories per cup. It is in Splenda, so Im not happy, but at least it is not loaded with sugar or asperteme: rolleyes:. Anyways, just wanted to know if anyone has noticed a difference in their weight loss efforts by eating yogurt. : D

Reply:I was at Publix grocery today and their store brand comes in an 8 oz container. THey had a fat free light which has fructose and aspartame. However, they also had a plain one. Perhaps you could get that and add your own fresh fruit….blueberries are in here, peaches and Bing cherries….raspberries soon…

Reply:You can open one and reseal it to eat later…it takes me a couple of days to eat a 6 oz container.
My Weight Loss Mindset
Reply:I have just about lived on yogurt and salad for a month or even longer. My excercise routine has completely disappeared (I used to try to do 20 min. on the bike daily), but I'm down about 15 lbs. Dannon Light and Fit is only 90 calories. I'd eat that for breakfast, lunch and snack after dinner. For dinner I'd usually have salad (with cheese and lots of different veggies) but sometimes I'd eat regular dinner, like everyone else in the family. It worked for me, and yogurt is a regular on my grocery list now.
Good luck—

101 Practical Weight Loss Tips
Reply:I'm looking for a fat-free, no sugar (including fructose!) added, in an 8-ounce container. I have found several that are in 6 ounce containers, but my diet calls for 8 ounces. Has anybody found anything like this? Thanks.
Ultimate Weight Loss Revealed!
Reply:I think calcium improves your bodies ability to burn fat…from my understanding, calcium from natural sources (such as milk, yogurt) have the best results in comparison to calcium supplements.
It seems that a lot of this has to do with making healthy choices. If you are replacing a poptart in the morning, cookies in the afternoon, and some ice cream after dinner with 3 yogurts, you're eating less calories and getting more nutrients so you should see weight loss (if combined with exercise). But like everyone says, it's not some magic pill!
The Guaranteed Weight Loss Diet
Reply:I have been eating milk, yogurt, cheese and cottage cheese, and so far haven't seen any changes, though I have only been working on my weight loss now for two weeks. I have to say that I prefer the Yoplait light the best.

Reply:You don't necessarilly watch the pounds melt away, but I've noticed that the dairy certainly doesn't hurt. I eat the Yoplait 99% fat-free yogurt and drink skim milk, and I've been doing great for weight loss. The key is overal diet control, as mentioned previously: you can't be downing bags of Doritos and use milk as some sort of magic elixir to erase all of the damage you just did.

Reply:The kind I found is a generic brand sold by Fry's (Kroger) Supermarket. It has no fat, no sugar (sweetened with splenda), and is 100 calories. I've been trying all the different flavors, and so far they are all good. :bouncing: They're on sale for 47 cents each, regular price is 69 cents each.
HTH!
Reply:Danon has a "light" brand. I think it has 90 calories per serving. Yoplait also has a 99% free. Also the low carb versions of flavored yogurt are lower in fat, calories and sugar free. They taste more "chemically" but are generally lower in calories and fat overall.
Reply:What kind of yogurt did you find that was fat free and sugar free?? I have not been able to find any.
Thanks
Reply:I know yougart is good for you, but regardless what fat free foods, dairy products, low carbs, etc… you eat, you'll never loose any fat without exercising.
I hate exercising in a gym, but every morning I'll do a few things to help me in the long run feel better about myself.
Reply:The studies show that calcium helps your body burn fat more effectively. The key though is to make it part of a healthy eating plan. You can't keep eating Doritos and Snickers bars and think that adding 3 dairy servings per day will make you lose weight. By the way, it doesn't have to be just yogurt. It is dairy in general, so milk and cheese count to, but be careful with the cheese. A serving size is quite small and you have to get the lower fat cheese to stay within your calorie and fat gram goals. You may notice that if you drink milk with your meals, you may get fuller faster, and you will end up eating less at your meal.
Get active too. Cardiovascular exercise is another key to weight loss and wieght management. Good luck!

I found that by eating yogurt for breakfast and again for lunch, and a regular, sensible dinner helps me lose weight. I learned this when I worked at a clinic and a patient had lost a lot of weight on his own. He said it was yogurt for breakfast and lunch. After that, all the nurses started eating yogurt. I find it works for me. I notice it first right around the middle. Problem is, I don’t always want to eat yogurt.
Not all things work for all people. I tried Atkins a few years ago and followed it to the letter and gained 2 pounds.
